Dubai Tennis Championships: Former World No-1 Kim Clijsters's disappointing return

Belgian legendary female tennis player Kim Clijsters retired in 2007 when she was to give birth to the first child. She returned in 2009 but then retired in 2012 due to injury.

Four-time Grand Slam champion Belgium's Kim Clijsters return to tennis was disappointing and she lost to Spain's Garbine Muguruza in the first match at the Dubai Championships here on Tuesday.

The former World Number-1 clijsters retired from tennis in 2012. She has now returned and lost 2-6, 6-7 against Muruguza in the first round. She struggled hard in the first set and lost 2-6. After this, she took on the opposition in the second set but the Spaniard did not give a chance and won the match.

Clijsters wrote on Twitter, "I may have lost the match but it is a win for me because I managed to return to the court." The feeling and energy I missed, now I am getting it.Clijsters had earlier retired in 2007 when she was to give birth to the first child.
